Located close to the city of Bordeaux and bordering on the Pessac-Léognan appellation, this 20-hectare vineyard was taken over in 1997 by Isabelle and Grégoire Gabin, who came from agricultural and winegrowing backgrounds. In the interest of quality, they undertook an ambitious restructuring of both the vineyard and cellar. The property is atypical due to the high percentage of Merlot, which accounts for the wine’s round, fruity flavour.
This Paumarel cuvée is made from a selection of the finest plots at Château Haut-Reys, planted over 25 years ago and aged for 12 months in barrel.
