Château Picard renewed as Cru Bourgeois
Château Picard renews its Cru Bourgeois certification
Château Picard, emblematic of the commitment and winemaking expertise of Mähler-Besse, has once again been awarded Cru Bourgeois certification this year.
This distinction, synonymous with quality and tradition, rewards meticulous work and an unfailing passion for the vine.
Even before its first classification in 1932, Château Picard embodied the essence of Bordeaux terroir.
Nestling in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, the estate’s unique terroir gives this wine its distinctive character.
Its clay soil contains precious calcified remains of shells and sea urchins.
Ultimately, it is the synergy of these natural elements that best tells the story of Château Picard.
What does Cru Bourgeois mean ?
Cru Bourgeois certification is awarded after a rigorous selection process, which includes an assessment of the wine’s quality. Tastings are carried out blind by independent experts.
A wine awarded this distinction has been tasted and judged by a group of seasoned winemakers.
It should be noted that only a Médoc wine can be awarded the title of Cru Bourgeois, Cru Bourgeois Supérieur or Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel. Above all, a Médoc Cru Bourgeois should be accessible to all and synonymous with sharing.
Our Château Picard is one of only 9 AOC Saint-Estèphe wines to have received this certification.
The renewal of this recognition not only underlines Château Picard’s consistent excellence, but also its ambition to always bring out the best in each harvest.
For lovers of great wines and newcomers alike, this distinction is a guarantee of confidence and authenticity. It is an invitation to rediscover Château Picard and appreciate all the richness of a wine crafted with passion.
By renewing this certification, Château Picard and Mähler-Besse are reaffirming their desire to perpetuate the Bordeaux winegrowing heritage while continuing to innovate in order to offer ever more refined oenological experiences.
