Château Cheval Blanc 1939
Produced during the Second World War, Château Cheval Blanc 1939 is a treasure well-guarded since the beginning of the 1940’s by the wine merchant Mähler-Besse. At the time, no fewer than fourteen barrels of this vintage were acquired and then bottled in our wine cellar in Bordeaux.
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of this unique wine, we decided, along with Château Cheval Blanc, to offer a very limited edition of the 1939 vintage to collectors and historic partners of the company.
In 2018, every bottle was meticulously inspected by the Château’s cellar master, Pierre-Olivier Clouet, and his technical team. The bottles were topped up with the same vintage, recorked, then restored with the same label in order to keep the utmost authenticity. In addition to this exceptional wine, we have selected the brand Zalto’s fine and delicate wine glasses, which will accentuate the tasting of this mythical Cheval Blanc 1939.
